I'm a Microsoft SharePoint Consultant with more than 5 years experience in developing customized applications using Microsoft SharePoint products and technologies as the development platform. I currently hold multiple Microsoft Certifications including an MCITP and MCPD designation for SharePoint.

I started my consulting career in 2005 for CGI, one of largest IT consulting firms both in North America and globally, right here in Edmonton where I supported a few Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 systems but was largely responsible for redeveloping those systems onto the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 platform. I became very knowledgable in how to leverage SharePoint as a development platform and to use it to create complex business applications with minimal development effort. As a consultant my talent quickly moved me away from development side of projects and my experience with the SharePoint products was used to develop solutions and oversee solution implementations for a number of clients in both the private sector and public government areas. In 2009 I left CGI to further my career as a developer to work for a much smaller consulting firm, iomer internet solutions where I continued to consultant on all things SharePoint related, but was primarily tasked with developing custom SharePoint 2007 applications and eventually became an early adopter of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010.

I've since left iomer and now work with Diversity Technologies Corporation where I'm responsible for developing and implementing a new web strategy for the entire organization from the ground up. To give you an idea of the challenges of the task at hand, I'm using the Business Connectivty Services components found in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 to integrate with a AS400 system running on a DB2 database. The end goal is to make the product inventory data in that system seamlessly available in real time for our customers to make instaneous online transactions which will ship from our warehouse the same day. While still heavily focused on developing with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, a large portion of my time is spent researching new cloud based offerings, particularly Microsoft's own Office 365 and determing how organizations like ours can leverage the cost saving associated with cloud computing without compromising on customizable business applications.

Having successfully completed all the current certifications for SharePoint I'm now working on the standard MCPD designation as well as working towards becoming a Microsoft MVP for SharePoint by participating in online discussions and by sharing with my work with the community..

Work aside, I live in Edmonton, Alberta with my wife Erin and daughter Mia. I enjoy spending lots of time outdoors whether it's coaching soccer, camping, playing sports or just hanging out with friends. I grew up in Whitecourt, a small town west of Edmonton and moved away in 2002 to attend school at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, where I graduated from the Computer Systems Technology (CST) and then the Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology (BAIST) programs.
